Nashua police said a man stole a car with two children inside on Wednesday.According to police, witnesses told detectives that Andrew Colvin, 42, entered the vehicle, which was idling in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Danforth Drive, and then drove off. Witness Diane Judson was walking her dogs when she said mother Sylivia Guerra ran up to her screaming that her car had been stolen and her children were inside. "She was terrified. She was very, very upset. Crying, her children, her children," Judson said. Guerra told police she was gone for only two minutes to drop off an Uber Eats delivery before she watched a man drive away with her 11-year-old and 5-year-old. Judson said she got her neighbors Wayne Kendzerski and Ariana Maffeo to help. "I caught him coming back towards us. The mother was out there trying to stop the car with her hands out there waving, screaming," Kendzerski said. Kendzerski said he didn't think twice before running out to the car and yanking the drivers side door open to confront Colvin and demanded he get out of the car. "I can't remember if I grabbed him. I don't know, it happened so quick and then he was just frozen and really didn't say much," Kendzerski said. Police said Colvin was removed from the vehicle before running off. The children were not injured, police said."What if I didn't hear her? What if nobody heard her?" Judson said. According to court documents, Colvin immediately noticed there were children in the car but still drove away. He allegedly told police he planned to take them to a safe location, such as a gas station, to let them out. He is facing multiple felony charges, including two counts of kidnapping and one count of theft by unauthorized taking. If convicted, Colvin faces up to 22 years in prison. Police said Colvin was out on bail in connection with a previous prowling case.
