Reflecting on my more than 25-year journey with Klüber Lubrication, each stage, from being a passionate R&D chemist to becoming Executive Vice President Technology/R&D has contributed to great memories. However, my time in China as General Manager stands out.In China, I found more than just a new working environment; I found a culture steeped in history and forward-thinking in technology. The seven years I spent there were not just about expanding business, building up production and logistics capacities, but also about innovation and cross-functional teamwork.The Chinese market's dynamism taught me the importance of pragmatism, agility, and the need to constantly offer added value to our customers. And innovation isn't just about the next big discovery; it's also about how we adapt to changing market demands and integrate cross-cultural insights into our processes.These are reasons why I still make a point of visiting Klüber Lubrication China on a regular basis and keep the exchange going. For example, we had a wonderful, cross-functional dinner at the end of last year in Shanghai with many colleagues who supported me for so many years beyond what was expected.We are more than just functions: Working all together, we are innovators with a global vision.
